Anomnachi- Watkins response

Question: "What did Watkins learn from Scott, Josh, and Byron?"

Watkins' investigation of CPA or constant partial attention began with a dive into the history and literature surrounding phones in the class before focusing in on the testimony of young people who lived with these distractions. What he found from talking to these young people (incuding Scott, Josh and Bryon) was that they do value their mobile media devices, but find themselves losing major amounts of time to them. The students describe the experience of accidentally spending 3 or more hours browsing Facebook when they should have been working on academic tasks. Watkins uses these 3 boys to discuss the problem of addiction but does not land on any specific conclusions about it. Instead he learns that mobile media devices are an 'omnipresent' influence on the daily lives of young people.
